(Mahmood Booti to Kala Shah Kaku) Road will start from Shadbagh ring road, a bridge on Ravi river, an interchange for “Mughal Gateway gardens” then Interchange at Kala Khatai Narang road where Lahore Sialkot motorway will join it, and end at Kala Shah Kaku GT road.

This six-lane link road, measuring about 14km, would be completed before 2018 elections at the cost of Rs 24 billion.


Lahore Development Authority will soon construct 5.8km long Expressway on GT Road from Shahdra to Rachna Town, near Kala Shah Kaku, on Build-Operate Transfer (BOT) basis.

The project will entail a 3+3 car lanes and a 2-lane dedicated Metro Bus corridor placed on embankment retained by RCC retaining walls, a 2-lane service road on both sides, two flyovers including one at Shahdara Morr and the other one on Railway Line at Imamia Colony, one underpass at Shahdara Morr to cater for Jaranwala-Lahore traffic movement, an at-grade roundabout at Shahdara Mor, construction of four new bus stations (including a terminal point) and remodelling of one existing bus station.

LDA will construct two flyovers, at Shahdara Mor and the Railway Line at Imamia Colony, and an underpass at Shahdara Mor to allow signal-free movement to Jaranwala-Lahore traffic. The thoroughfare will have a dedicated corridor in the middle for the Metro Bus service.


The Sialkot – Lahore motorway (SLM) is an under construction north-south motorway in Pakistan, which will connect Lahore to Sialkot via Gujarat. The motorway is 89 km long. The project is expected to be complete in 2018. Once completed, it will reduce the travel time between Sialkot and Lahore to just 45 minutes.

The motorway will be four laned, having seven interchanges, eight flyovers, 40 bridges and 70 underpasses. Three industrial zones and two universities would also be established along the project. It will be linked with M2and N5 through Lahore link road near Kala Shah Kaku. The route will run parallel to GT road, passing east of Daska, east of Sambrial and end in Gujrat.


The Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (Tepa) has prepared a project to extend the Metro Bus Service from Shahdara to Kala Shah Kaku.According to details, the project will cost more than six hundred million rupees.

An eight-lane highway will be built from Shahdara Mor to Kala Shah Kaku. Two out of the eight lanes will be allocated for Metro Bus. A total of 89.9 kanals will be acquired on both sides of GT Road at a cost of Rs11 million.
